Feminist Media Speaker
In-person or Online, engage wtih presence, knowledge & fun!
Before I started podcasting, I was a public relations and leadership professional. Even then, I talked about topics I love – generational challenges and connections, elements of leadership, facilitating change and many more. While I am a lifelong learner, I earned my MA in Organizational Leadership mid-career and from there, developed and taught a leadership class, “Growing the Leader in You,” to undergraduate students at my alma mater. That’s where I discovered television references (as easy as pulling up YouTube) were helpful in illustrating points and dissecting leadership styles.
If you are responsible for an event’s speaker line-up, I assure you I have been in your shoes. Foremost, your people’s time is valuable. Whether you’re planning a board retreat, professional education conference or club gathering, my energy and words will align with your event goals to create a memorable experience for everyone in the room.
Television has been changing American culture since the 1950s and remains a shared experience that embraces the individual and community. It’s a wildly untapped resource for reflection and affirmation that audiences need today.
Why Book Cynthia?
1. Facilitating Valuable Discussion
Cynthia doesn’t lecture, she presents. Adults learn most effectively when they’re processing and relating to the content. And more often than not, feminism, politics, culture and TV form a mix that encourages discussion.
2. A Lighter Session for Personal and Professional Growth
From the history of women in a given profession (as depicted on TV) to personal growth that comes from representation, Cynthia brings a deep knowledge of series, episodes and arcs that form a custom, multi-media curriculum for your participants.
3. Your Group’s Goals
Whether it's leadership, risk-taking or generational harmony, Cynthia works with your organization’s goals to create a memorable session that is educational, thought-provoking and could go on another 30 minutes.
4. Conversational Speaker and Facilitator
Television is such an important part of American culture, but it takes an engaging personality to make it a positive, reflective and educational tool. Blending her depth in generational dynamics, 20th century American history and communications, Cynthia keeps a pace and energy that maintains engagement.
5. A Presence
Maybe it’s the natural red hair, Midwestern sensibility, the eye contact or the deep knowledge of her subject matter, but audience members note Cynthia’s presence and energy in their positive reviews.
